FIFTH CLASS

This time I teached to a new group of students, this experince was totally different. The topic was a bout clothes and we teached a reding class. Students knew already most of the vocabulary, what we emphazied a little bit was with pronunciation. The techniques that we used the activities, were easy to understand to the students, even tought they have a little more difficults to understand all the structions, we model all the activities in order to they get easy the idea.

The main problem that I have this time was with the control of the class, my new students are extroverts and I had some troubles to keep them quiet and paying attention, they make noise and playing with each other, this makes more difficult to explain because they get distracted easily. Atthe end of the lesson the objective was acomplished because but I will pay attention more and activities taht make them busy in order to avoide distraction during the class or give them time to play with each other.



What I need to better is to pay attention more at my students behaviour and keep an eye in all of them during the hole class in order to avoide noise or les focus during the lesson. If I improve this will be easier to get the objective of the lesson and students behavior will be better.
Another thing that I need to improve is to hide my likes or deslikes about my studenst because even thought I do not like too much.

This new group of students will help me to improve my behavior as a teacher, to adapt at any student and different techniques to keep them paying attention during the lesson.Every class is a new learning for me in my way to be a better teacher and to know how to deal witth any trouble that my appear during I am teaching.

FOURTH CLASS

This time we teached a reading a class of professions, studets knew already most of the professions and we just reviewed the pronunciation. This time I started the class was a very god beggining with the warm up, we made some movements to strech up and break the ice, students enjoyed the activity and then we read a story in which the kids had to recognize the proffessions mentioned,  the objective of the activity was acomplished. 



There were some things that was not good enough on the lesson because the class was a little bored, the activities that we choosed were basicly the same in which the studensts just need to mark or point the proffessions  and we extend a little bit each ativity and that was waht made them bored.

As my personal experience was not the best one first because there were few students and that decrese my energy and my tone of  voice showed that. I need to better my tone of voice etier if I have few students and teach with energy in order to make the class fun for the students. In every class that I tecahed I learned something new that will help me alot to improve as a teacher, every class is a challenge because I still learning, but I love every class and my students as well.

MY THIRD CLASS

This third class was so much better, this time even tought we have not much students the objective of the lesson was achieved. The class was about professions, children knwe some professions already, so it was easy to teach the other ones. Children made an exercise on a sheet writing the coorect profession that is on the image, with this activity at the end they wrote the professions correctly, but was alittle bit difficult for them because they had some spelling mistakes. What we leraned about this activity is tah for next time instead of ask stdents to write the complete word we should ask them just to fill the blanks and will be easier for them to understand quickly the activity.

Children payed attention the whole class, sometimes they got distracted but I could control them better to pay attention and make the activities as were planned, I aske them to pass to the front and make a match activity with the professions on the board in two groups, they got excited and starting to make a mess, but then I asked to stay in lines and make the activity in order and they did it. The activity was succefuly done and I proud about them.

There are some thing that I stiil nedd to better of course, for example my tone of voice, y tone of voice is not loud enough, sometimes students speak louder than me and this sould not be like this. Besides that at the begining of lesson I started with not confidence enough and I need to start since the very begining with energy and cofidence making feel students that the class will be awesome. In fact there some things that needs to be better but we are learning to be better in every next class.

SECOND CLASS TEACHED 

My experience this second time was too much better, students get better the idea and learned more. this time my classmate and I teached "animals" students knew some animals and that made the class easier. I introduce the topic and correct some pronunciation mistakes with them; to break the ice I made a dynamic singing a song with them the activity was nice they love to sing and enjoyed it, what I know I could better for next time is to make the activaty more dynamic like making the mimics with them in order to make it funnier. Children love to singing and making the mimics wil be like a game for them so they get learn easier.


The rest of my class I considered that was good of course there are some other aspects that I need to better for example my tone of voice that some times is not louder enough to catch m students attention, also that I need to use more my space, move around the classroom and not to be just in one side of it to have a complete control of my class.

Besides the aspects that I mentioned as a teacher we alway need to keep on mind that we need to adapt ourselves to our class because this will hlpe us to understand our students behaviour and ways to teach them, and this is waht we are being oserved in every class we teached. Next calss of course will be better I will put into parctice my teachers and classmates advices and learn from my mistakes, correct all the mistakes I had made until now and apply this experience to improve my performance in my next class.

MY FIRST CLASS

My first day teaching was mot what expected, I tought "PRONOUNS".
There were some aspects in which I know I can be better. At the begining of my lesson the students were making a lot of noise, also they were very excited like they want to playing out or something like that, I did not know what to do, so I made a shh sound in order to they got the idea that I need them to be quite and paying attention. I know that is something is not appropiate to do, so next time I need to prepare a dynamic to make them calm if they are making noise.

Another thing that I know I can better is my tone of voice, because for kids I need to speak a little bit loud in order to catch thier attention and let them know that I am the teacher. Besides that we need to prepare more activyties for the class, because we prepared some but at the end we can not do it because they were so destractive to make them, so we repeat the same activity  of repeat the pronuns that we had in some flash cards that were showed to them. I extend the time making them repeat the same activity and at the end, because I skiped some activities that were planned I improvised and I made them copy the pronuns on their notebooks in order to keep them busy and calm.

But all those troubles that I had when I was teaching I can not say that were tottaly bad, because all what happened tought me what I can not do I what kind of activities we need to mae with them, all this mistakes that I made will not happen again in my next calss. I love children and worked with them and also and the most important I love to teach.

OBSERVATION CLASS 

My experince at observating class was very useful. Observating my classmates class, I realized how important is to play attention at students behaviour in order to planning dinamics for them.

one of the positives things that observed was that my classmates had everything organized and they speaked loudly and clearly to the students, when a teacher speaks with a good tone of voice, students know who has the authority in that the teacher is the one who knows.

Another thing that I liked about my classmates class, was the materials that they used, they used creative things like posters with many colors and this catch students attention because they love colors, so if something is atractived to them they play attention.

Talking about the things that I think could be better, I think that weneed to play attention at the time to choose songs, because if we coosed a song needs to be an easy song that they can uderstand and follow. in this case I think that the alphabet ong was not the best one, because the song was very fast and they could not follow the song. besides that te activity in which they need to invented a new song using the alphabet was a little bit difficult to them because they had problems to get the idea about what they need to do.

Another aspect that i observed that needs to be better, is t keep the control of the class all the time, when was the second teacher turn the students started to loose theb class attetion, they starting to do what they wanted and the the teacher focused on the ones that were playing attention only, ingnoring the rest behaviour. what we as a techers needs to fcused is on the ones that are not playing attention in order to keep the whole class under control and everybody reach the goal at the end of the class.

Work Shop

Day 2

The second day I had the work shop was even better that the first one, the activities that we did helped me to express me better and to enjoy them like I hope my students will were teaching. I think that the first thing that I need to do to ake that happen is to enjoy my class, because if I enjoy it I will share that feeling to my students as well. Most of the activities that we did in this last work shop were basicly to express us better in front of public to do not feel nervous and to feel comfortable when we arre in front, to sound confidents at the time to speak and do not let the persons know in front of us that we dude at the time talk.
Sound confidebt is a most when we are taching and that was one of the main points thta we discuss in this work shop.

Having a bad day or problems out side is not an excused to give the best when we were teaching, this was one of the pooints that we discuss in this work shop, also that we need to apreciate the opportunity to study this beautiful carreer. Some times we are so busy thinking that we are doing everything correctly but there is always something else that we can add to make things even better.
Tere is also important to give us time to our selves this besides to make us feel good and relax, will help us to show that feeling with our classmates and do not stress up when we were teaching.

My Experience at Work Shop 

Day 1

The first day I have the work shop, I was more that nervous I was ancious, I was excited, because I knew will be a good experience that what I was about to learn it will help me a lot when I were teaching. I think at the beggining was a lit bit difficult because I was nervous and did not know what to do ar to express myself in front of my classmates without shyness, but with  the past of the activities that we did, we started to lost that shyness and even without realize that we were loosing it.

Since the first day we had the work shop activity I learned a lot to be confident in front of others, the guy who was giving us the work shop, help us giving us tips of confident, not just sound if not to seem that we know what we are talking about even if we don not.

Teaching Praticum I

About myself 

My name is Veronica Menjivar, I am 23 years old, I am a  fourth year student of Teaching Languages at Don Bosco University. Since my fisrt day at the unversity I dreamed about my graduation day, that day I will say officially that I am a teacher, I have learned a lot on these last years about teaching. Practicum I is just the begining of the experience that is cooming soon on my carreer.I started this beautiful journey of teaching 4 years ago ad now I can say that I am close to ake my dream come true. All the teachers that I had had, teached a lot not only in academic terms if not in my life, how little things make big changes in others life. Most of the people may think that being a teacher is easy, well I used to think like that but now I now that is not that easy, that waht you teached will be apply in real life for your students and if I am a good teacher they will be good in what they study as well. I am a person who thinks that waht you give to others God bring back to you with duplicate,
So I try to always give the best of me and help as much as I can if somene needs me.
